Why are my purchased shares not visible in my Allvest account?

If you’ve bought shares but don’t see them in your Allvest account, it’s usually due to settlement timelines, regulatory restrictions, or special conditions related to the stock. In most cases, the shares are safe and will appear once the underlying issue is resolved.

Below are the most common reasons this can happen.

Common reasons shares may not be visible ( Shares can be visible in Demat account , On Exchange marked as Non-Tradable )

Reason

What it means

Delisting of shares

When a company is delisted, exchanges disable trading in that stock. As a result, it won’t appear in the trading interface. However, delisted shares may still remain reflected in your holdings or demat records for reference purposes.

Short delivery

In rare cases, the exchange is unable to deliver shares on settlement

day due to a seller default. When this happens, the shares are not credited to your demat account, and the transaction is reversed as per exchange rules.

Stock split or bonus issue in progress

If a stock has undergone a split or bonus issue, it can take up to 1–2 trading days after the record date for the updated quantity to be credited. During this period, the shares may temporarily not appear.

Shares transferred or gifted

When shares are transferred out of your demat account or gifted to another person, they will no longer be visible in your holdings.

Suspension by the exchange

Exchanges may suspend trading in certain stocks due to regulatory or compliance reasons. Suspended stocks are not available for trading, though they may still exist in your demat holdings.

Graded Surveillance Measure (GSM) – Stage 3 or above

Stocks placed under higher stages of GSM face trading restrictions imposed by the exchange. These stocks may not appear in the trading interface but can still exist in your holdings.

Quantity freeze by statutory authorities

Regulatory bodies such as SEBI, exchanges, or tax authorities may freeze shares due to legal or compliance actions. Frozen shares cannot be traded and may not be visible for execution.

Shares pledged as collateral

If shares are pledged as collateral (for margin or other purposes), they may not appear as freely tradable holdings until the pledge is released.

Designated person restrictions

If you are classified as a designated person under insider trading regulations, certain restrictions apply. Due to compliance requirements, your shares may not be visible for trading during restricted periods.

KYC not verified or on hold

If your KYC is pending, on hold, or rejected by the KYC Registration Agency (KRA), holdings may not be fully visible or tradable until verification is completed.

*In case of Delisting of shares, Suspension by exchanges, Quantity Freeze by regulatory authority , Pledge, Designated person restrictions, KYC not verified or on hold.
*Clients can see shares in Demat account statements in above mentioned conditions , only their trading status on the exchange is affected. They will, however, be marked as non-tradable.

*In case of any corporate actions - you can see shares from corporate actions in your Demat account, but they appear after the processing, not instantly on the record date, typically reflecting in your holdings within days or weeks.

What you should do next

  • Check whether the stock is under suspension, surveillance, or a corporate action.

  • Allow standard settlement timelines (T+1) to complete.

  • Ensure your KYC status is verified and active.

  • If shares are pledged or frozen, review the reason for the restriction.

  • Reach out to Allvest support if the shares do not appear even after expected timelines.

In most cases, missing shares are related to temporary or regulatory conditions and do not indicate a loss of ownership.
